Lauren Stewart is a Licensed Professional Counselor Supervisor who received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology from Texas A&M University in 2010. At Texas A&M, Lauren worked on multiple research studies evaluating the longitudinal academic development of students across various schools in the Bryan/College Station school districts. She went on to earn her Master of Clinical Rehabilitation Counseling from the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center in 2014. UT Southwestern provided Lauren with invaluable experience related to psychological/educational testing, cognitive behavioral therapy, and extensive knowledge understanding various mental/physical disabilities. She has worked in private practice since 2014 where she gained experience diagnosing, evaluating, and treating individuals across the lifespan. Along with evaluation and therapy services, Lauren has a passion to work with students in graduate school who are pursuing degrees in counseling and supervises multiple LPC-Associates who are entering the mental health field. Lauren specializes in the treatment of anxiety and depression and uses cognitive behavioral therapy to teach clients effective coping strategies, realistic thought patterns, and ways to problem solve challenging situations. Lauren especially enjoys working with adolescents and young adults who have challenges developing healthy boundaries, maintaining transition to adult life, and effective communication. Lauren believes in the importance of patient education as adolescents develop into young adults and navigate the natural challenges associated with this transition.
