Introduction

Lauren earned her Masters of Science in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Rhode Island in 2016. Lauren is a proud military spouse and as a result holds an active license in the states of VA, MD, and NY. Due to licensing differences in the state of New York LMFT's have limits to practice that exclude conducting telehealth. Therefore, Lauren does not work with clients that reside in the state of NY. Lauren's practice is out of Maryland. As a relational therapist, Lauren takes a strengths-based and collaborative approach with all individuals in the room. She strives to create a safe environment that fosters a positive and trusting therapist/client relationship. Lauren understands and values how social, cultural, and biological influences can impact an individual or family system. Lauren has also conducted and published research on the benefits of incorporating humor into therapy, creating space for laughter or playfulness, and the importance of the therapist/client relationship. Lauren utilizes various treatment methods listed below. Lauren can not offer ESA letters, formal testing, prescribing of medications, workers compensation, or forensic psychotherapy (such as assessments for custody) as they are out of her legal scope of practice.
