With over nine years of experience, I work with clients struggling with depression, anxiety, trauma, life transitions, relationship challenges, and stress management. Often times your presenting issues or symptoms do not fit into a diagnosis or seem "small" and that's okay. These symptoms often impact your function and overall well-being. Then other times, you have had enough of feeling stuck, exhausted, and sick of living life this way. My counseling style is laid-back with a high level of professionalism and goal oriented treatment. FAQS - What happens in therapy? - Therapy is flexible and based on your needs - treatment planning goals are typically discussed in the first sessions and always include YOUR input, you are the expert in your life. My sessions are typically interventional based; teaching skills and techniques. There are available either in-person or on a virtual platform/video. - Is it normal to feel sad or anxious when seeking help? - 100%. It can be extremely difficult to decide to seek counseling. The journey getting to this point has been most likely difficult and painful. I admire you taking this step and researching ways to take care of yourself. - Do I have to go to therapy for forever? How long will I see you for? - To answer the first question, no, the goal is to give you skills and the space to address your needs. Once goals are accomplished and you're feeling better, it's typically time to fly on your own. Some clients really enjoy the on-going support therapy provides and treatment plans may vary. Often times, clients come back, seeking a tune-up or have new concerns they want to address. Please know every client is different. Some clients choose to move at a slower pace (and that is O.K.) and others prefer a quicker turn around time in therapy. - How often will I see you? - I typically see clients weekly, for 55 minute sessions. I offer a limited amount of in-person visits in Elmhurst. I also offer tele-health visits. - How do I pay for therapy? - I am in-network with Blue Cross Blue Shield PPO. I will submit claims on your behalf. I recommend every client who pay via insurance to call the back of their insurance card and verify their Behavioral Health/Outpatient Counseling benefits. Also, please check if you have a deductible to meet so you don't have any financial surprises. I require a credit card on file in order to book sessions. I often tell clients to think of therapy sessions similar to visiting your doctor's office - typically there is a Co-pay due at the time of service. If you prefer self-pay or use Out of Network benefits, I will charge the same contracted rate as the insurance company. My goal is to be as transparent as possible with billing practices and ask clients to honor the policies put in place. - What is your clinical experience? - I have over nine years of experience as a post-grad in behavioral health hospitals as a behavioral health navigator, crisis line operator, and therapeutic day school for those with severe social-emotional needs. I've provided individual therapy, group therapy and social skill classes. Additionally, I have experience providing consults to physicians at Edward Medical Group, Elmhurst Medical Group, and DuPage Medical Group/Duly by triaging and assessing suicidality in their patients. Moreover, I was the contact clinician for "Physician Vitality," triaging Medical Healthcare Professionals such as MDs and DOs with behavioral health needs and connecting them appropriately in a discrete manor. Your privacy matters to me. The software I use is HIPAA compliant. - How to schedule a first visit? - Please email or call me to schedule a free initial consultation or intake appointment.
