Lauren Best is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in the state of California. After receiving her Bachelor’s degree in psychology with a minor in sociology at Chapman University, Lauren went on to earn her master’s degree in clinical psychology with an emphasis in Marriage and Family Therapy (MFT) at Pepperdine University. Prior to working at CAOCD, Lauren trained in community based mental health clinic where she specialized in the treatment of anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and trauma. There, she quickly advanced to become a lead group facilitator for parenting groups, anger management, therapeutic art, and mindfulness groups. Lauren also has extensive experience working with family systems as Program Manager of the home visiting teams and is skilled in navigating these unique dynamics. As a parent herself, Lauren has a passion for working with anxiety disorders and obsessive compulsive disorder with children, teens and their families. Lauren works from a strengths based, integrative approach which incorporates the client’s existing strengths while working with them to build the skills needed to achieve success in treatment and in their lives. She brings warmth, structure and a deep understanding of family systems to her work as a clinician at CAOCD. Lauren is an active member of the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT).
