We’ve all experienced wounds of various shapes and sizes. Some of us develop troublesome coping strategies to deal with these experiences. In fact, we are often left feeling inadequate or ill-equipped to manage day to day life as a result. While the word trauma feels heavy for some, I believe it is important to investigate our wounds from a place of empathy and curiosity, no matter how large or small. As we heal, I’ve discovered that it is possible to find strength and meaning … even gratitude…in our greatest challenges. As a therapist, I offer an integrative and collaborative approach to treatment. By cultivating an atmosphere of trust, support, warmth, and direct communication, I provide a safe container for your experiences to be honored and received. I believe there is no universal avenue to healing. With the help of my clients, I am able to tailor my process to serve their unique gifts and obstacles. Through our work, we will begin to uncover the nature of your wants, needs, values and boundaries. Perhaps more importantly, we can integrate these elements into your self-concept to foster congruence between your beliefs and actions. Therapy is not always an easy road. There will be bumps along the way. In reality, the process is akin to a hero’s journey. It requires a ton of courage to slay the proverbial dragon. But in doing so, you will emerge victorious, with a strengthened sense of identity, direction, and purpose. Your willingness to contemplate beginning this work is already a testament to your bravery. Together, we can traverse your discomfort and discover fulfillment on the other side.
