My therapeutic approach combines depth psychotherapy with the power of the arts to help you deepen your connection to your self, gain awareness and acceptance, and make changes in your life. You, as client, are seen as a work-in-progress, with the innate capacity to create and grow. I, as therapist, bring a combination of depth and practicality, humor and creativity, and passion about the process of change to my work. Advanced study and professional work as a theatre artist and musician led me to ongoing training and certifications to incorporate expressive arts and sandplay into the therapy process. The integration of the arts and the use of active imagination to access the psyche remain constants in my work. My specialization with children & adolescents also serves my adult clients, who all bring their unique life stories, history & development to the therapy process. Since 1994, I have worked in and studied the field of psychology. I present nationally and internationally on topics related to psychotherapy, sandplay, and integration of the arts in therapy. Some of my articles on these topics have been published in book chapters and professional journals. I also provide consultation to psychotherapists and other allied professionals. Over more recent years I have focused my training on depth psychotherapy approaches, with a focus on Jungian Analytical Psychology and Sandplay Therapy, and am a certified Jungian Analyst, affiliated with the C.G. Jung Institute of San Francisco. More information on my website: www.laurasoble.net
