My name is Laura McDowell-Salcedo and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I have a passion for working with people and I really love what I do. My style is interactive and supportive, yet direct in working with clients and I view psychotherapy as a collaborative effort between therapist and client. I earned a Master of Social Work degree from Syracuse University in 1996. My undergraduate degree is a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Texas at Austin. I worked in a variety of settings prior to opening my private practice in 2002. My early experience was working with clients involved in the legal system with conflict resolution skills and substance abuse issues. For many years, I worked with adults with serious mental illness helping them to gain skills in managing their illness and developing healthy coping techniques. I have extensive experience working with clients with mood and anxiety disorders.
