Welcome to Awakened Lotus Counseling. This is a space where clients are encouraged to be themselves, find a space to feel seen, and be more understood as the relationship builds. As a renegade-empath, I chose this career because of my passion for connection, and desire to ease the suffering of great people going through a tough time. To become a counselor, I was all in. Even with four children, I served as president of the honors society to finish my masters program. So, I obviously love to "nerd out" with psychology and it energizes me to learn. Finding "Internal Family Systems" was a game changer for me in the way I look at counseling and life altogether. It was created by both a shaman and psychologist. The framework helps us to recognize each one of our parts are trying to either love or protect us. So are everyone else's. It incorporates mindfulness and unconditional love for ourselves, which can't help but spread onto others. Counseling to me, is having a caring person alongside you to remind you, even when things are hard, that you're not alone in this growth process. I've been in difficult spots myself and get what it's like to struggle. Healing and recalibrating is a lifelong journey and not a quick bandaid to forget the past. I think we grow and awaken each step of the way, which adds richness to each experience. If we're still here, we must have more room to expand and grow. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Experience: My first therapy experience was as a group counselor in 2001 a residential treatment center. I spent a few years as an advocate for a battered women and children's shelter, which eventually led to being an equine therapist with teenage girls. I opened up a private practice focusing on individual and couples therapy in 2020. Outside of the clinical side, I have been relentlessly studying mystical arts, energy work, spirituality and ascension for decades. Ketamine Assisted Psychotherapy sessions are scheduled after completing a few psychotherapy sessions and run around two to three hours long.
