Introduction

Most of my clients are recovering from trauma or chronic stress, while many others come seeking help in overcoming depression, anxiety, loss, significant life changes, and parenting challenges. One of my primary specializations is addressing the unique needs of individuals and families involved in adoption, whether as an adopted individual, birth parent, or adoptive parent, and those seeking to hold on to or rediscover their faith after spiritual wounding. I am a certified EMDR therapist and have training in using this transformative therapy with both young people and adults. I use lenses of interpersonal neurobiology and attachment theory to collaborate with clients in developing an individualized plan for their therapy. With my youngest clients, parents are active members of the treatment team and are included in therapy. My special focus on adoption and trauma-related issues comes from over 15 years' experience in those areas. Starting therapy can feel daunting, so my first goal is to provide clients of all ages, backgrounds, and needs with an environment of warmth, acceptance, and safety.
