Laura Howell, LMHC, is a licensed mental health counselor. She believes that entering into a psychotherapeutic relationship is a courageous and powerful way to get unstuck and find a path forward when you are struggling, feeling alone, or overwhelmed. Laura completed her B.S. degree in psychology at Towson University and her M.S. degree in psychology at Loyola University, both in Baltimore, MD. Since 1991, she has enjoyed working with adults and adolescents who come to counseling with a wide range of concerns, including depression, anxiety, relationship issues, chronic stress, trauma, grief, and physical challenges and illness. She is especially interested in the area of personal growth and exploration during life transitions. Laura also enjoys helping clients who have diverse cultural backgrounds and gender identities. She has worked in a variety of settings including schools, community mental health centers, local health departments, and private practice. Laura utilizes both traditional and innovative therapeutic approaches based on her client’s unique preferences and needs. She can help you discover your inner resources for deep well-being, healing, self-compassion, and confidence. Laura is an authorized meditation teacher with over 15 years experience incorporating the tools of mindfulness, guided imagery, and relaxation for those who seek a holistic approach.
