Clinical Practice Dr. Davis is a clinical psychologist specializing in child and teen anxiety, obsessive-compulsive disorder, depression, and trauma. She also has extensive experience with clients going through difficult life transitions, ranging from adjustment to school to navigating family separation or divorce. Dr. Davis has specific expertise in these conditions and circumstances and recognizes the profound impact they can have on a young person's daily life and overall well-being. Additionally, Dr. Davis provides comprehensive ADHD evaluations (ages 6+). Her assessments are thorough, customized to you or your child's specific needs, and provide diagnostic clarity and individualized recommendations. Due to the overwhelming community need for timely ADHD evaluations, she has dedicated time in her practice for immediate testing appointments. Dr. Davis is experienced in coordinating care with psychiatry or primary care should you pursue medication management for ADHD symptoms. In her clinical practice, Dr. Davis creates a warm and supportive therapeutic environment. Drawing from evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT), and trauma-focused interventions, she'll collaborate closely with you and/or your child to develop a treatment plan that addresses your unique goals and needs. Dr. Davis understands the importance of involving families, schools, and other support systems as needed to ensure comprehensive care. Dr. Davis built a practice designed to provide high-quality and attentive care. She offers flexible hours and both in-person and virtual options for therapy. She understands the importance of timely services, and clients are typically seen within one week. Dr. Davis can currently practice teletherapy to residents in 40 states and in-person in Edina, MN. You are encouraged to schedule a complimentary 15-minute initial consultation to see if she's the right fit for you or your child. Dr. Davis is out-of-network for insurance companies; however, clients can choose to submit their bills to their insurance provider. Out-of-network benefits often reimburse clients 50-60% of the charges after their deductible. The documentation needed to help clients receive reimbursement will be provided upon request. Education and Background Dr. Davis has “seen it all” throughout her training and career. She’s provided psychological care to child, teen, and adult populations in private practice, community mental health, inpatient, partial hospital, medical, and emergency settings. Dr. Davis pursued her undergraduate studies in psychology at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln. She went on to earn her masters and doctorate degrees in clinical psychology from the University of South Dakota. She completed her predoctoral internship and fellowship at Hennepin Healthcare in Minneapolis, specializing in child and adolescent mental health. Prior to private practice, Dr. Davis served as a children's services supervisor at Zumbro Valley Health Center in Rochester, MN. There, she provided psychotherapy to children, teens, and adults, expanded the children's mental health programming, and supervised the children's mental health case management team.
