Introduction

Hi! My name is LaShaunia Brooks, and I am passionate about helping you create balance in your life while fostering a sense of inner peace and self-compassion. Life’s journey can be challenging, but you don’t have to navigate it alone. At Healthful Guidance, I provide a supportive space for you to explore self-awareness, heal from past wounds, and achieve personal growth. One of our primary focuses is addressing Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) and their lasting impact on emotional and physical well-being. Together, we’ll work to unravel how these early experiences have shaped your life and empower you with tools to overcome their effects. Through our work, you will not only learn ways to combat stress and regulate emotions but also reconnect with and heal your inner child—the part of you that holds the key to self-discovery and resilience. A landmark study by the CDC and Kaiser Permanente found that childhood exposure to abuse or social dysfunction can profoundly affect brain and body development, increasing the risk for substance abuse, depression, anxiety, PTSD, and serious medical conditions in adulthood. At Healthful Guidance, we integrate trauma-informed care to help you make sense of these connections and create a brighter future. Whether you or a loved one is facing challenges like depression, anxiety, PTSD, substance abuse, or struggles stemming from ACEs, I’m here to assist and support you in finding a healthy mind, body, and spirit. Our work will focus on helping you build insight into the ties between adverse experiences and behaviors like impulsivity, mood swings, and stress responses. Let’s take this journey together and discover how to GROW through what you GO through, unlocking the peace and potential that lie within you.
