Mr. Daniels received the Master of Arts degree in Marriage & Family Counseling from the New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary and began counseling in 2007. He maintains both the LMFT and LPC-S licensures (Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist and Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor), as well as the Registered Play Therapist credential. He enjoys working with individuals of all ages (3 and up), along with couples and families. He utilizes various skills and approaches in counseling, including: • Gottman Method Couples Therapy (GMCT) • Marriage Marathon Intensives (GMCT) • Play Therapy • Attachment-based approaches • CBT (Cognitive Behavioral Therapy) • TBRI Practitioner (Trust Based Relational Interventions) • Theraplay • EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing) As a Registered Play Therapist, he uses play and expressive therapies with all age groups—not just children. Such approaches open neural networks in both sides of the brain, which allows for a greater opportunity for healing, clarity and growth. With children and play therapy, the theory goes “toys are their words, and play is their language.” Mr. Daniels invites parental involvement to regularly check on the child’s progress at home to assess gains and continued need. He considers it an honor and privilege to walk with others during times of challenge, need and struggle. Call now to make an appointment: 251-444-9740. Larry offers Marriage Marathon Intensives, which utilize the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, and is 18 hours of therapy in 3 consecutive days. Sometimes hourly sessions once a week does not suffice for the needs of your marriage. Marathon sessions give such momentum, and couples can focus on just their relationship. Couples can move through interventions, attachment injuries, assist in revising perceptions of your relationship, and learn new conflict management tools, while looking at rituals of connection, and so much more. The Gottman Method has several unique components that differentiate it from traditional couples’ therapy. Besides 18 hours of therapy over 3 consecutive days, included in your Gottman Marriage Marathon Intensive will be: • Assessments: o The Gottman Relationship Checkup o The Prepare-Enrich Marital Inventory o An in-depth relationship history (Oral History Interview) o Individual session/time assessment o Review of the data from the relationship surveys (Checkup & Inventory) • A treatment plan that addresses the specific needs for your relationship • Learning the Gottman Principles • Couple Therapy Sessions utilizing a number of effective Interventions which have been crafted over nearly 50 years of validated research by John & Julie Gottman • Planning for ongoing treatment, as needed • Lifetime access to the Gottman Relationship Builder, which will allow couples to continue their progress at home Marathon sessions are not covered by insurance.
