Introduction

All of us can find ourselves stuck in rigid behavior patterns that pull us away from who and what matters most in our lives. We know from attachment research that the work to overcome these behaviors is best accomplished in the context of dynamic, loving relationships with their partner, family, friends and/or a higher power. By establishing a foundation of secure attachment and promoting healthy communication, clients use their strong home base as the firm foundation from which to move flexibly through the world in a more effective, happy, and joyful manner! I have been serving individuals, couples and families in the Northern Virginia area since 2003 and, while I incorporate integrated “best of” therapeutic approaches, I specialize in utilizing Internal Family Systems Therapy (IFS) Emotionally-Focused Therapy (EFT) and Emotionally-Focused Family Therapy (EFFT) to help couples and families move beyond constrictive patterns of behavior to co-create new patterns of healthy communication and secure bonds. I also incorporate Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build lives that matter by increasing their capacity to move towards their goals.
