Introduction

Hi! I'm Lanette Ambers (she/her), and I am a Licensed Clinical social worker who has been supporting mental health needs since 2004. There comes a time in most people's lives when it's helpful to have a supportive person to guide them through challenges they may be experiencing. It takes strength and courage to decide to begin therapy. If you are considering this for your child, you should be commended! I have experience working with children experiencing difficulty regulating emotions, depression, anxiety, low self-esteem, peer difficulties, school issues, family changes, attention concerns, grief, loss, trauma, and post-adoption challenges. As a Certified Synergetic Play Therapist (TM), I am providing "a research-informed model of play therapy blending the therapeutic power of play with nervous system regulation, interpersonal neurobiology, physics, attachment, mindfulness, and therapist authenticity." - Lisa Dion, creator of Synergetic Play Therapy. I am a Certified Advanced NeurOptimal (R) Neurofeedback Trainer in both Basic and Advanced training through Zengar Institute. Find out how a more regulated brain can serve you when it's more flexible, adaptable, and resilient in a non-invasive, safe, and drug-free way! NeurOptimal (R) neurofeedback is for "Getting the information (or feedback) the brain needs to organize itself, allows the brain to release patterns that can get in the way of it functioning well." - Zengar Institute. Neurofeedback can help people feel calmer, change their perception of their "stuff", cope with things better, improve sleep habits, improve mental acuity, decrease anxiety, and a supportive process in general wellness. In addition, I am licensed to teach Raising Kids with Big Baffling Behaviors: A Course For Parents, created by Robyn Gobbel. The Parent Course is based on the best-selling book called Raising Kids with Big Baffling Behaviors: Brain-Body-Sensory Strategies that Really Work by Robyn Gobbel. I teach this amazing course either one-on-one with parent(s) or in a group format. I provide a client-centered approach to therapy by working in a collaborative manner to address your goals through individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, and parenting support.
