I consider myself a "country girl." I grew up in Mississippi. I earned my Bachelor's of Science degree in Health, Physical Education, and Recreation from Jackson State University. I earned my Master's of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I am an author and motivational speaker. I have over fifteen years of teaching experience and over seven years of counseling experience. There comes a time in our lives we when we are ready to face our issues. If you are ready to work on those issues, I encourage you to start the process to heal your soul. Soulful Counseling can teach you to do just that. As a proud advocate of the LGBTQIA+ community, I understand the mental challenges one may face. If you are struggling with self-acceptance, spirituality, family rejection, or work-related issues, this is the place for you. I also have a strong sense of passion for working with LGBTQIA+ youth. Sometimes a person needs help rediscovering themselves, which is where learning to be assertive and self-empowering can help. As a teacher and coach (track & basketball) of fifteen plus years, I understand the stress that comes with meeting the demands of motivating, inspiring, and educating young minds for the future. Soulful Counseling provides a safe space for teachers to address issues relating to their job and personal lives. Teachers are expected to go to work, be mothers, fathers, counselors, coaches, etc. all while educating young minds. Before you know it your own issues are placed on the backburner. You have not only neglected yourselves, but your family, children, and friends suffer as well. I have a passion of working with kids, teens, adults, and the elderly. My areas of focus are teachers, LGBTQIA+, transgender, grief, couples, divorce, rebuilding family relationship, parenting, depression, bullying, anger, mood swings, anxiety, weight loss, workplace discrimination, defiant behavior, and career goals. My style of therapy is eclectic, cognitive-behavioral, affirmative, group, integrative, and person-centered. I incorporate music, art, play, spiritual, fitness, motivation, and a tough love environment.
