Hello, my name is Lafayette and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). My journey to being a therapist was not a traditional one. My very first encounter with a therapist (LCSW) was on active duty 23 years ago. The compassion and empathy I received that day lit a fire that continues to burn today. It led me to becoming a therapist myself and seeking to help individuals through the many opportunities for growth that life has to offer. Having served on active duty in the US Army, I uniquely understand the lifelong "transition" of being a Veteran. Those "transitions" in our lives are unavoidable, as change is constant, unrelenting....and scary. When anxiety runs high due to the ambiguity and uncertainty how does one maintain mental health well-being? We are responsible for our well-being and taking accountability for that charge means making your mental health, well-being and peace of mind a primary focus. I have had the pleasure of accompanying my clients on many journeys (substance abuse, trauma, family conflict, severe SMI, emergency psychiatric services). None more important, meaningful or impactful than the other. All of which took great strength to take those first steps. And in some cases, it took others to begin the process. Are you concerned about a family member or a loved one? Is today the day you take the first steps to freeing yourself and finding peace and perspective? If so, please schedule a free 15 minute consultation and let's explore if I could join you on that therapeutic journey.
