My name is Kym Lundberg, LMFT (CA LMFT #129673). I help anxious and overwhelmed people feel more calm and confident. I am particularly good with clients who are creative, who struggle with their inner critical voice, and who sometimes (or often) get lost on their way to creating the life they want. I have worked for over 15 years with youth, adults and families in various multicultural settings, often based in education spaces. My background includes art and education before I shifted to focusing more directly on mental health. I bring my perspective with the education system and the creative world into my clinical work and often help my clients navigate these different systems and spaces. The common thread has been focusing on supporting people to reach their personal goals. Some of the challenges my clients seek help for are dealing difficult life transitions, anxiety, depression, ADHD, self-esteem, identity issues, and grief, among others. Within the safety of the therapeutic space and relationship, I meet you were you are in this moment. Together we can work on what would feel most helpful, which might include building self-worth, healthy coping skills, lifestyle changes, relationship and communication skills, and personalized ways to manage stress and life's ups and downs. I have a person-centered, integrative orientation and a style that is warm, thoughtful, and personal, with my approach tailored to the needs and interests of my clients. When appropriate, I may bring in humor since laughter is important medicine. I integrate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), mindfulness, expressive arts therapy, attachment theory, and trauma-informed therapies. I am passionate about supporting people as they overcome challenges and create lives they enjoy.
