I am a licensed clinical social worker in New York. Before moving into private practice, I worked several years with survivors of physical abuse and sexual abuse at a non-profit in Brooklyn; youth in East Harlem who were part of a publicly-funded mental health support program; and adults struggling with eating disorders at a private, outpatient therapy practice in Chelsea, Manhattan. In my practice, I try to create an environment where clients can get to know themselves at a deeper level. My own experience in therapy as a client showed me what is possible. I've learned that maintaining an ongoing sense of curiosity about oneself is essential for navigating and tolerating the ebbs and flows of life. My academic background includes a degree in journalism from the University of Colorado and a Master of Social Work degree from Hunter College. I am currently undergoing post-graduate training in psychoanalysis from the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy and receiving certification in Attachment-Focused EMDR therapy. My approach to mental health is compassionate and holistic, considering the interconnectedness of mind, body, environment and personal history. If you're interested in working together, please contact me to arrange an initial consultation. Sessions are offered 1-3x per week.
