Hello! I am Kristy Soloski, Ph.D., LMFT-S, LCDC. I'm a licensed marriage and family therapist (license #: 202679) and a licensed chemical dependency counselor (license #: 13458) in the state of Texas with over 13 years of experience (to verify license status, please see: https://www.dshs.texas.gov/mft/mft_search.shtm). I am also Level I Certified in Gottman Method Couples Therapy. My training allows me to work with clients from a variety of backgrounds and facing a variety of challenges. I work from a systemic perspective, which means that I am uniquely qualified to do treatment with individuals, couples, and families, and means that I holistically view the people I work with. I have helped clients facing issues including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, substance use, anger management challenges, other mental health diagnoses, relationship issues, and family conflict. My areas of specialty include couple and family dynamics, substance use, and emotional processes. I'm a versatile clinician with clinical expertise that is enhanced by the teaching, research, publishing, and clinical supervision that I am engaged in as a faculty here in West Texas. To give you a little background on me, I was born and raised in Ohio. I went to Kent State University for my bachelor's, Purdue University Northwest for my Master's, and Kansas State University for my doctorate. I moved down to Lubbock, TX to take a faculty position in 2014. I've loved my time here in West Texas! In my free time, I'm a photography enthusiast and a half marathon runner. I enjoy hiking, snowboarding, and plant caretaking. I believe we are all capable of change, I believe we are all capable of taking control of our lives. I hope that you'll let me help you thrive.
