With over 15 years of experience in outpatient, school and community mental health settings, I utilize my experience and specialized training in Expressive Therapies and Play Therapy to help clients reach their personal goals and feel heard and understood along the way. Whether I am working with adults or children, I often find that using alternative methods in addition to traditional talk therapy can help build a trusting therapeutic connection, allow for emotional expression, give insight into complex and confusing feelings, and make space for one's own inner wisdom to emerge. Within a playful environment, clients can pretend, draw, write, make music, or use the sandtray, sometimes all within one session! ...Because sometimes life is just too big for words. I hold a PhD from Lesley University in Expressive Therapies, in which I focused my doctoral research on the use of play and art with siblings of children with cancer. I am also licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) in the state of Virginia and am a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor (RPT-S) through the Association for Play Therapy.
