I strive to create a safe, nonjudgmental atmosphere for clients to explore their relationships, values, strengths, and changes they want to make. I strongly believe that everyone is capable of persevering through life's challenges and making positive change, if given the proper tools, skills and resources. I tailor my approach to match the unique needs of each individual. I am a strong advocate of empowering clients through education about the brain and mental health, to help them take control of their own lives. I focus on tapping into and building upon underlying resilience I believe all clients have. I am a direct communicator but have a casual approach and appreciate humor in sessions. I am experienced in treating adults (18+) experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma/PTSD, psychosis, personality changes, relationship difficulties, anger/violent behavior, self-harming behavior, and suicidal ideation. I am knowledgeable in the culture of public safety and greatly enjoy working with first responders (police, fire, dispatch, correctional officers, EMS) I practice from DBT, CBT, ACT, person-centered, and trauma-informed approaches. I am trained in Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) to treat traumatic experiences through bilateral eye movements.
