Teens, college students, and young adults need someone other than their parents or friends to process their life with. I specialize in working with clients of those ages around the issues of trauma, substance use, depression and self-harm, adoption, family conflict, and life transitions. No problem is too big or too small for therapy. I am here as a resource to handle the extreme life events, or if you simply need someone to talk to. I know that these time periods in life are especially challenging. If you are seeking someone who is relational in their approach and who will be gentle yet direct, we may be a good fit. I also enjoy working with families who are looking to handle conflict, challenging behaviors, or establish new dynamics within the family system. My goal is to understand you. What your feelings are, what you have carried from experiences, and what you need. Therapy is a space to be your authentic self and discover more about your history, what shapes you into who you are, and where you would like to go. I approach therapy with the perspective that I am there to support and uncover your own personal agency and strengths. You know yourself the best and you are the expert of your life. Together, we can explore the parts that are hindering growth. I am relational in my approach with clients, as this is important for change to occur- for you to feel safe, seen, and supported. I like to integrate humor into our sessions where it fits and hold space for the tears that may flow. I have been told by clients that I am a direct yet gentle therapist. I provide supportive and encouraging feedback as you need.
