My name is Kristi Rooney. I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor committed to empowering individuals in accomplishing their health, wellness, relationship, education, and career goals. My work focuses on identifying obstacles and personal challenges causing emotional turmoil. I believe in taking a person center approach to helping clients reach their goals. I am passionate about creating a welcoming and safe environment for individuals to explore the ineffective behaviors, habits, and beliefs keeping them stuck. If you are interested in scheduling an appointment or consultation with me, please call or send me an email. When humans experience trauma or severe life stressors, it commonly affects everyone differently. The impact of trauma can be subtle, insidious, or outright destructive. It is my passion to offer safe, healing space for people who have been through various traumatic/stressful experiences. I help clients, who include children, adults, and families, grow and heal through traumatic experiences; developing self-worth and strengthening their relationships. No single approach is the right one for every individual, and so I have been trained in a range of therapeutic approaches including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Advanced Trauma Treatment for Children & Adolescents. I utilize an Integrative therapeutic approach, using techniques and tools from different evidence based treatment modalities to tailor an individualized approach for each client. My educational background includes a Masters of Social Work from the University of Montana in Missoula. I have a B.S. in Sociology from Western Washington University in Bellingham, Washington. At Headframe Integrative Counseling you will be provided a safe and confidential environment to explore your feelings, beliefs, and behaviors, work through distressing memories or life events, develop skills and identify strategies to address and resolve problems creating emotional turmoil. Through the use of a collaborative approach to therapy, you will participate in conversations and activities that open up possibilities and ideas. By sharing your experiences, hopes, and intentions in a therapeutic relationship, you engage in the collaborative effort to create new understandings and meanings to difficult experiences. These exchanges are often the catalyst for personal growth by helping you embrace yourself more fully and discovering the motivation to create real, lasting, positive change in your life.
