I tend to work with clients who are motivated to regain power in their lives. It might feel like you have lost your power and agency to an eating disorder, or panic attacks and anxiety, or dissociation, depression, and avoidance. Your life no longer looks like the life you wanted, and you have lost things - relationships, opportunities, joy - because the eating disorder or anxiety or trauma now takes up so much space in your life. You might also have ambivalence and fear about making changes because it can be terrifying to challenge your established ways of being in the world. Ambivalence is so normal and something we can work with! I will not attempt to take away your coping tools, even self-destructive ones. Instead I will work with you to identify the areas of your life where you are feeling powerless, and help equip you to take your power back. This often means starting small to build confidence and trust in yourself, and working up to bigger challenges followed by a freer life. My best work is done with clients who are insightful and motivated to engage in deep, long-term work in order to give us the time to identify, untangle, and address the various factors contributing to both your suffering and your resiliencies. I firmly believe that no matter how hopeless or helpless you might feel right now, you are capable of healing and achieving your goals. I believe this because you are already tapping into your strength and courage by considering therapy. I look forward to connecting with you in a free consultation to discuss if we might be a good fit! If you would like to schedule a free consultation but do not see an available time that works for you, please reach out to me directly for other available times.
