Introduction

Kristen Tandy (she/her) is the therapist and owner of Holland Counseling, LLC. My name is Kristen, and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Candidate in Colorado. I received my bachelors degree in Psychology at California State University, Chico, and my master’s degree in Counseling and Career Development from Colorado State University. I thoroughly believe that partnering with individuals and couples through a non-judgmental and affirming space can make a huge difference in the experience of physical and mental health challenges. My specialties include working with parents and families of children with disabilities or chronic illnesses, as I am a parent of a child with a disability. I also specialize in perinatal and postpartum mental health, with specialized training in maternal mental health and perinatal loss and grief. In addition, I bring advanced training in career counseling and enjoy supporting both individuals and couples in navigating through career and life challenges and career related trauma. Finally, I love supporting couples who are experiencing disconnection in their relationship, are new parents, or simply need support for developing positive relationship habits. I have experience supporting a wide array of clients with challenges like depression, anxiety, grief, PTSD, interpersonal challenges, and more. I use a variety of therapy modalities like eye movement desensitization and reprocessing (EMDR) therapy, Internal Family Systems (IFS), narrative therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused brief therapy, and motivational interviewing. In my couples work I utilize a modality called Relational Life Therapy to support couples in resolving conflicts and improving harmony in their relationship. Regardless of what you would like to work on, my hope for you is that you feel seen and understood in our work together. When I’m not working, I love spending time with my partner and our two kids, releasing endorphins at the gym, or trying new food places in Denver!
