Introduction

New Location as of 4/1/24! Right off I-74 in Goodfield, IL 3 Legacy Dr, Ste 1 Not a single one of our lives has escaped pain, hurt, rejection, loss, or other traumatic events. It’s a part of the world we live in; a part we cannot evade. Each generation, the trauma becomes more complex, as it builds on the previous generation’s unresolved trauma. But it doesn’t have to continue. You can end the cycle of generational trauma. Trauma and Early Childhood Trauma are ever-increasing topics in the world of mental health. It simply means experiencing a distressing event that goes on to have a lasting emotional impact. As science advances, we’ve learned specifically how the brain is impacted by trauma, and that the symptoms affect our whole body. My fascination with trauma and the brain are what led me to develop my own practice that cultivates an environment and experience that promotes whole-body healing. Like many social workers, I started my career in child welfare as a caseworker. Witnessing children and their parents experience trauma first hand, drove me to specialize in trauma and attachment therapies. Now, as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) and Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP), I have 14 years of experience working with clients from a very young age, all the way through adulthood. I also work with clients to address anxiety, adjustment disorders, depression, mood disorders, domestic violence, abuse/neglect, adoption issues, OCD, child and adolescent issues, and attachment disorders. I earned my MSW at Illinois State University, and I have advanced training in EMDR and Theraplay. I would love to be able to come alongside you and your family, and witness your life changing as you work through your own trauma and life struggles! When I’m not learning about or treating all-things-trauma related, you can usually find me at a sporting event for one (or more!) of my four kids. My husband, Adam, and I are huge fans of our very active and involved kids. I also enjoy hanging out with friends and family, being a part of our impact group at church, and volunteering in the local foster care community.
