Introduction

You might be experiencing stressful moments at work, conflictual relationship with your partner, difficulties maintaining relationships or parenting your kids, issues with self-esteem or emotional regulation, feelings of loneliness and unworthiness, or difficulties dealing with transitions. It’s hard to deal with all this in isolation. The good news is that there’s help and I’m here to support you in feeling better. As a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist, I believe everyone has a unique history rooted in their family of origin. Individuals constantly recreate unresolved issues in their family of origin which leads them to get stuck in negative and unhealthy patterns of interactions. I will help you gain insight into those patterns and guide you to make changes. As an immigrant who left her country and decided to take a risk and start her life in a new place, I understand the complexities of cultural differences in families and communities, and work with my clients to create space to discuss and embrace these differences. In addition, I am bilingual; fluent in Arabic and English. I work with couples, adult individuals as well as families. I work in collaboration with you, we discuss your goals and set a plan to achieve them. I focus a lot on strengths and encourage you to gain ownership of the change. As a Gottman trained therapist, I enjoy working with partners to help them find what brought them together in the first place and to guide them to strengthen their friendship, their skills to manage conflict and their ability to create a common culture that honors both of their dreams and needs. I guide partners to process infidelity and help them build a new relationship based on a stronger foundation. I also work with adults who struggle with self-esteem issues, anxiety, relational issues and insecure attachments. We work together to gain insight into how past and present relationships and experiences affect their current behavior. In addition to insight, I help my clients become observers of all those ingrained patterns as a step to unhook from them and pursue behaviors that match their values. I also help individuals process their trauma or adverse life experiences. I enjoy working with families as well to help them create a more fulfilling family unit. I use structural family therapy which is based on the idea that a change in the family structure is a necessity to create change in the behavior of individual members.
