Welcome to Mind and Body Connection LLC! I'm Kristan Corl, and I help adults navigate anxiety, depression, and substance use. If you're ready to find hope and rediscover your strength, I'm here to support you on your journey. I'm a Licensed Counselor with a Master's in Counseling from the University of Colorado Denver. My experience spans various mental health settings, and I integrate evidence-based practices like motivational interviewing to empower you on your journey. In a safe and supportive environment, we'll work collaboratively to explore the connections between your mental, physical, and emotional well-being. Through this process, you can gain valuable insights, develop coping strategies, and cultivate a stronger sense of self. Primary Therapeutic Approaches and Modalities My approach to therapy is to help you uncover how past experiences influence your present-day life. By exploring thoughts, feelings, and relationships, you can gain deeper self-awareness and create lasting positive change. I help empower you to lead your own journey of self-discovery and healing. I'll provide a supportive and non-judgmental space for you to explore your concerns and find your own solutions. You are unique, and your path to healing should be too. I utilize a variety of therapeutic approaches to help you uncover your inner strengths and create a life of greater meaning and well-being. Below are the following modalities that I use in my practice with clients: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) I'll help you develop essential skills in interpersonal communication, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and mindfulness to reduce distress and improve your daily life. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) We'll also explore how cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) can address underlying thought patterns that impact your well-being. Motivational Interviewing (MI) Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative conversation that helps you explore your reasons for change, overcome ambivalence, and find your own motivation to achieve your goals. Nutritional Psychology This is a relatively new area in the field that focuses on the relationship between nutritional consumption and psychological health. This approach explores the powerful connection between what you eat and how you feel. It recognizes that food impacts not just your physical health, but also your mood, thoughts, and overall mental well-being. Currently, I'm receiving training in this area and learning more about it to incorporate some of these elements into my practice. More about me. As a Southern California native who's called Colorado home since 2008, I love exploring the beautiful outdoors and staying active with HIIT classes. When I'm not working with clients, you can find me nurturing my indoor plants, spending time with loved ones (including my two indoor rabbits!), or enjoying music, cooking, and gaming.
