Introduction

I am a Licensed Marriage, Family and Child Therapist who has worked in the mental health field with diverse populations for many years. My areas of expertise include working with children (age 3 to 12), Adolescents (13 to 18), Domestic Violence within families, sexually-abused children, adolescents and adults, at-risk youth, men, women, couples, families that struggle with trauma, parenting challenges, self-esteem challenges, self-esteem and empowerment for teens and adults, behavior and emotion regulation, adjustment and transitional challenges, depression, anxiety, stress management, dual diagnosis/co-occurring disorders, as well as intellectual challenges. I am focused on enhancing the quality of life for families and individuals through collaborative and compassionate counseling. My therapeutic approach is collaborative, attachment-focused and client-centered. The primary influences in my treatment style are Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioral, Solution Focused and Collaborative. I am culturally competent in understanding the specific cultural, linguistic, social, and economic nuances of particular people and families. I understand peoples' differences and the impact of social injustices on their well-being. I have extensive experience in delivering culturally competent care to a variety of individuals, including under-served populations, and marginalized communities.
