Hello! My name is Kirby Jones and I offer counseling services in the Winston-Salem office as well as virtually across the state of North Carolina. I completed my final year of graduate school in Wake Forest University’s dual Counseling and Divinity School’s Masters programs in May 2024 after interning at Camel City Counseling for the 2023-2024 academic year. I am passionate about creating a space where clients feel empowered to re-author limiting stories in their lives and live into new narratives of growth and healing. I approach counseling from a person-centered perspective and utilize evidence-based interventions aimed at promoting emotional awareness, self-compassion, and constructive relationships. I pull from EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing), ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) and IFS (Internal Family Systems) to help clients move through their healing journey. I have several years of experience working with children and adolescents in a variety of educational and community settings, including schools, tutoring centers, and enrichment programs. I also enjoy working with young adults, especially those navigating issues related to life transitions, religious harm/deconstruction, and identity concerns. My passion areas include food/body issues, neurodiversity, LGBTQ+ youth, anxiety, depression, identity formation, religious trauma/deconstruction, attachment, and child/adolescent counseling. I meet clients where they are and invite them to bring their fullest selves into the room, as I believe that healing happens not only through the skills and insights gained in counseling, but through a warm, nonjudgmental, and empathetic counselor-client relationship. Outside of work, I enjoy reading, cooking, and spending time outdoors. I cannot wait to meet you!
