Sometimes there are no words for the pain that we experience in our lives. Sometimes we have to work to find the words that can explain just enough to let others into our pain to be truly seen and heard. We may not be able to change the past, but counseling is about meeting the person where they are and working collaboratively to create positive change for your present and your future. It may seem overwhelming, but with the proper support and resources, we can work together to break out of the pain and begin to make movement in creating a life that you want to live. I work with adults using a person-centered perspective. You are a unique individual and what works for you may be different than what works for other people. That being said, I am EMDR Certified. I also utilized Internal Family Systems (IFS-Informed), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing, and utilize skills as needed from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), and Narrative Therapy. For those who wish to discuss or use a Christian frame of reference, I can offer counseling from a biblically-informed perspective. However, all religions and beliefs are valued and respected. My goal is to provide a space of non judgment for you to be able to work on your goals in order to create the changes in your life you desire. Education and Background: I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the state of Texas. I received my MA in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and BA in Psychology from Houston Baptist University. I have a variety of experiences in the mental health field from interning at a residential facility for adolescents to having worked in IOP programs for addiction and mental health for adults to working for non-profits with crisis hotlines centered around advocating and providing support for human trafficking survivors. In every place I have worked, I have seen the effect of trauma. It has made me passionate for those who have experienced trauma who are wanting to start the journey of healing.
