Introduction

Hello! I am so glad you are here! You are courageous for taking the first step on improving your life! My approach to therapy is reflective of a Strengths Based model and is client centered. You know your story best! I develop solution focused goals with my clients and prioritize what they feel is most important in developing a treatment plan. Some modalities in sessions include: Narrative (talk therapy), CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy), ACT (Acceptance & Commitment Therapy), IFST (Internal Family Systems Therapy), Mindfulness, Grounding Techniques, Visual/Guided Imagery, Motivational Interviewing, Worksheets provided by Therapist Aid, Deep Breathing, Reframing Thoughts, Cognitive Challenging, Cognitive Refocusing, Cognitive Reframing, Communication Skills, Exploration of Coping Patterns, Identifying and Exploration of Emotions, Exploration of Relationship Patterns, Interactive Feedback, Interpersonal Resolutions, Preventative Services. And optional work to complete outside of sessions.. My goal is to offer interventions to allow you to be the best version of yourself. You are the author of your story! My experience and practice has been in home, school and community based settings with children, youth, adults, couples and families. Specifically with children and youth I have experience in Autism, Intellectual Disabilities, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, Oppositional Defiant Disorder, parent-child conflict, trauma/abuse/neglect, anger management, and behavior management. Most of my adult practice includes: Christian/faith based, sexual trauma, trauma/PTSD, stress, anxiety, depression, relationship/family issues, marital counseling, parenting struggles, and substance addiction, Autism/Developmental Disabilities, self esteem/self confidence, body image, intimacy concerns and infidelity. * Please note, at this time, I am focusing my practice on adults ages 18+. I am a Licensed Independent Social Worker for the state of Ohio. For 22 years, I have dedicated myself in the profession of helping others. I was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania where I graduated with my Bachelor Degree in Social Work from Misericordia University and my Masters Degree in Social Work from Marywood University. I relocated with my family to Columbus, Ohio 7 years ago. For my self care practice, I participate in yoga and spin classes and attend church on a regular basis. Most of my time is spent with my husband and three children. Volunteering is an important part of who I am. My role as a Volunteer Resource Coordinator for a local community organization, serves those who find themselves homeless in the Columbus Area. I gather and collect items and food to be distributed at the respite center. Lastly, I take great pride in being an Autism Advocate because of my work as a professional, as well as knowing individuals in my personal life on the Autism Spectrum. SERVICES OFFERED: Courageous Counseling offers telehealth Counseling sessions through a HIPAA compliant portal called Simple Practice. Self pay is offered at this time for an affordable rate. Rates are $/ per hour session. I am also credentialed with most health insurances. A 20-30 minute FREE consult is always offered. This way we can meet to determine if we are a good match! You wouldn't buy a car without test driving it and I feel therapy is such an important relationship. I want to be honest and let you know if what you need is in my area of expertise as well as giving you that option to determine if I am a good fit for you. Thank you for taking the time to learn about what Courageous Counseling can offer you. I would be honored to guide you along your journey if you feel I am a good fit. Be Well!
