Introduction

I'm Kierra Holiday (She/Her), a compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) dedicated to empowering individuals on their journey toward mental and emotional well-being. As the proud founder of District Counseling, I am committed to providing top-tier therapeutic support. I began my academic journey with a Bachelor's degree from Florida A&M University, where I developed a deep understanding of human behavior and the nuances of social dynamics. To further my commitment to helping others, I pursued a Master's degree from Howard University School of Social Work, solidifying my expertise in fostering positive change through empathetic therapy. With over a decade of dedicated service in the DMV area, I have worked with diverse families, individuals, children, and adolescents. My experience spans various impactful settings, including nonprofits, child welfare, healthcare, foster care, criminal justice, school environments, and direct therapy. These rich experiences have shaped my holistic approach to mental health and have been the driving force behind the inception of District Counseling in October 2019. In my practice, I integrate three cornerstone therapeutic approaches: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Person-Centered Therapy. My primary goal is to guide individuals toward gaining profound insights into the factors contributing to their stress, worries, anxiety, and overall concerns. This heightened awareness serves as a foundation for building healthier relationships, crafting effective solutions to specific challenges, enhancing decision-making capabilities, and achieving significant reductions in distress. At District Counseling, I am dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming, and judgment-free space where growth and healing can flourish. It would be my honor to partner with you on your journey to mental well-being, empowering you with the tools you need to lead a more fulfilling and balanced life. Let’s navigate this path together.
