Introduction

My counseling approach is holistic, clinically-informed, and gospel-centered. It is a joy to walk with people through life’s hard places. I believe we are all image-bearers with great purpose who are never out of the reach of our God’s loving hands. I specialize in pastoral care, marriage, depression, anxiety, addiction, and trauma care. I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) for the state of Missouri, a Certified Biblical Counselor through the Association of Biblical Counselors (www.christiancounseling.com), a Certified Christian Trauma Care Provider through Christian Trauma Healing Network (www.cthn.org), and a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist (CCTS-I). I also serve as the Counseling Director at a faith-based men’s shelter where I work with men and women who are homeless or formerly incarcerated. I am an LPC Supervisor that oversees counseling students from a local university. I am trained in fatherhood development and relationship skills, including communication, conflict management, expectations, and physical, emotional, and commitment safety. I also really enjoy working with people who are in vocational ministry. I served in vocational ministry for 18 years through youth, music, church planting, eldership, and pastoral care. I know ministry can feel like a lonely place with all kinds of struggles. We need safe, grace-filled places to struggle and heal through our suffering in life. I am licensed and ordained as a pastor and received my Masters in Counseling from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Kansas City, MO. I grew up in Springfield and felt a call to ministry at the beginning of my second year of college. That call has led me through ministry in multiple states and has now landed my family back home in Springfield. I have a big heart for Springfield and look forward to walking through life with people no matter what they have been through. PAYMENT OPTIONS You can pay online using PayPal or a credit card. We do not take insurance. It’s important to understand that insurance companies have their own rules and regulations when it comes to mental health coverage. This can be challenging for therapists who want to provide the best possible care for their clients without being restricted by these requirements. Sometimes, what the insurance company wants to pay for just isn’t what’s in the best interest of you as the client. You can also call your insurance company beforehand to see if they will reimburse you. We can provide a receipt and invoice for each session.
