Introduction

Welcome! I'm so glad that you found your way here. I know first hand how scary and intimidating it can be to reach out for help from a therapist, and I want to congratulate you on your courage, and your willingness to take the first steps toward healing, growth and positive change. Like you, I've been in the client's chair, hoping that a therapist could help me feel better. As a therapist who has also been a therapy client, I know how important it is to feel seen, heard and most of all, safe. I don't know your personal story just yet or what has brought you here, but I'm ready to provide a warm, friendly and comfortable environment in which you can share, and I can listen. I look forward to helping you navigate the path ahead, and emerging from your experiences with a sense of hope and the promise of a new beginning. My name is Kerry Bursley and I have been a mental health therapist for seven years. As so many of us have experienced in recent times, life can be unpredictable, challenging and even frightening. When faced with change of any kind, it can be difficult to find our footing again. We can feel overwhelmed with confusion and fear as we stumble blindly through the darkness. Like the Greek Goddess, Persephone, we can find ourselves in new situations and new circumstances that we never dreamed of. It is my belief that even in darkness, we can find our way to the warmth of the Sun and light again. Like Persephone, who became the Queen of the Underworld, we can become strong, powerful and change the course of our story from tragedy to a life in which we can thrive. I look forward to helping you sow the seeds of healing and growth, and start a new chapter in your life! I specialize in trauma, PTSD, Anxiety, Depression, Grief, and other life transitions. I love working with people from a wide variety of backgrounds and cultures. The foundation of my practice is built on the values that I hold dear, including inclusion, equality, and the rights of individuals to create the lives that work for them. I am welcoming and affirming to the LGBTQ+ and Polyam communities. As a Pagan, I enjoy working with other Earth-Centered folks, but am very open and welcoming to people of many different spiritual or religious backgrounds (or no background, as the case may be.) My goal as a therapist is to provide my clients with a warm, friendly, compassionate and safe experience. I am EMDR trained, and also incorporate techniques from Brief Solution Focused therapy, Motivational Interviewing and Narrative therapy as well. I look forward to hearing more about your journey and how I can help you! Please note: I am accepting new clients on Wednesdays only at this time. Check back soon, as new days will open.
