Hello, my name is Kendra Wilson and I am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist. I often blend elements from different approaches to help people identify their treatment goals and individualize their own plans to meet their needs. My core gift is helping others to find joy in places that are dark. I give it by helping them to connect to others through communication, overcome barriers, and feel safe so they can relax and decompress! My approach The most common theoretical approaches I use are Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, Client-Centered Approach, Mindfulness, Gestalt Therapy, and Humanistic Therapy depending on the needs of the person. My focus I enjoy working with both children and adults to help them with overcoming life barriers through relationship building, stress management, and improving awareness to treat a variety of mental health concerns. My communication style I enjoy creating a relaxed, safe, and supportive environment to help promote healing and decrease emotional stress. I am committed to providing a supportive environment to help people achieve their own idea of personal growth. My journey to mental healthcare I have my own history with trauma and I understand the challenges that are faced when dealing with mental health personally. My own history with overcoming barriers through therapy has pushed me to want to continue to provide that support and give back to the community. My goals for you I am patient and kind during the process to allow you to exercise your right to self-determination. I will support you and work collaboratively to understand your values surrounding goal setting. My first session with you During the first session, I focus on rapport building and establishing a connection with you. I enjoy getting to know people while building a plan to support you further. I continue to work on building a safe environment to feel comfortable with being open and sharing to better assess issues of concern.
