Ken Cunningham is a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor in the states of Illinois and California. After earning his bachelor’s degree in Law from Waseda University in Tokyo, Japan, he attended Northwestern University for preclinical psychology and received his master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Vanderbilt University. Ken has worked at Rogers Behavioral Health and the Depression and Anxiety Specialty Clinic of Chicago (DASC), where he specialized in the treatment of anxiety disorders, depressive disorders, and obsessive-compulsive and related disorders. Most recently, Ken worked at the Center for Anxiety and OCD (CAOCD), further honing his expertise in treating anxiety and related conditions. He has experience in a variety of settings, including outpatient, intensive outpatient, and partial hospitalization programs, and has facilitated Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) groups for adults. His approach focuses on building strong therapeutic relationships to maximize collaboration and achieve optimal results. Ken customizes treatment plans using evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), and mindfulness. He is fluent in English and Japanese and values multicultural competency in his work with clients. Ken is an active member of the California Association for Licensed Professional Clinical Counselors (CALPCC) and the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF).
