Introduction

Kelsey Pierce is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor with experience in various roles treating both addictions and serious and persistent mental illness in children and adults. She graduated with a Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling from Idaho State University and found herself gravitating towards inpatient and residential treatment for kiddos. Kelsey gained valuable experience working as a dual diagnosis counselor for children and adults alike in inpatient and outpatient settings. In 2017, along with her husband, Kelsey moved to the treasure valley and began her career at the Idaho Department of Heath and Welfare Division of Behavioral Health. Kelsey's tenure at the Idaho Department of Health and Welfare began as a Clinician and Designated Examiner on the Forensic Community Treatment team, then transitioning and spending the majority of her time on the Mobile Crisis Team. On this team Kelsey served as a primary Children’s Mental Health Crisis Clinician, and left the state as a statewide Children's Mental Health Program Specialist. Kelsey began her journey in supervising Clinicians obtaining their Clinical licensure in 2021 and has enjoyed watching Clinicians grow in their careers. Kelsey is passionate about advocating for behavioral health and its impact on individuals, families and the community as a whole. Kelsey has held many volunteer roles in her career learning about various marginalized populations. She has served as a board member for the Pocatello Valley Montessori School, committee member for the Bannock County Commissioners Office discussing behavioral health treatment and gaps in the community, and as counselor in the Northwest Center for Fluency Disorders treating stutters. In 2018, she was appointed a member of the Region 4 Behavioral Health Board and served on the board for a number of years. Kelsey has passion for helping others overcome their most difficult hurdles in life and works to create a collaborative environment that promotes healing and learning. In her free time she likes read, be creative, try new recipes both cooking and baking, water sports, and spends as much time as she can with her husband, daughter, and son.
