Kelsey Barillas, is a Mexican-American bilingual Clinical Psychotherapist currently residing in the San Diego County. Kelsey is a first generation college graduate, with a Bachelors from California State Dominguez Hills and a Masters in Clinical Psychology, from Pepperdine University. With five years of experience, Kelsey currently practices with a range of therapeutic techniques. She has had the opportunity to work with a variety of individuals, couples, children (ages 10+), adolescents, and their families with different types of mental health, emotional, and adjustment issues. Over the past 6 years, one of her main focuses has been to work with those diagnosed with Mood disorders such as Bipolar. Most of her patients consist of a large percentage of the Latinx, military, and LGBTQ+ community. Kelsey has been committed to using a person-centered, strength-based approach to her patient care. Through her care she has used a variety of therapeutic techniques such as CBT, DBT, ACT, EFT, as well as Solution Focused Brief Therapy. Kelsey is committed to always provide her clients with a safe space and the easeful range for each of them to be able to trust leading their treatment with her guidance into successful healing and growth. Kelsey’s title of Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist is more than a career, she is passionate to learn about human interaction. She is very enthusiastic about what she does and she puts her heart in all of her work. Kelsey describes her self as an adventurous, goal focused, sports, travel, and music fanatic. Music is a big center point of Kelsey’s life she highly enjoys dancing and listening to music. She finds great pleasure in attending concerts, sporting events, and traveling. She has a strong devotion to her loved ones and prioritizes quality time with them any chance she gets. Even though she thrives in company, Kelsey also enjoys her solitude. She loves to read, write, draw, and also loves the out doors; the beach is probably one of her most favorite places on earth but, anything with a beautiful wildlife view is utterly breath taking to her. In her commitment in destructing the stigma in mental health Kelsey stands by the statement that says; "Being vulnerable does not mean you are fragile, it means you are courageous."
