I am a graduate from the University of Alabama where I received my master's degree in Social Work. I'm originally from Alabama but have lived in Colorado for over 12 years with my husband and two young children. I love music, movies, coffee and spending time with my friends and family. I've been working with children, adolescents, adults and seniors for over 20 years. I also enjoy working with couples and families. I have experience working with individuals who are struggling with depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma and substance abuse. My clients have overcome challenges in their relationships, marriages, careers, and family lives. I also focus on trauma, grief and loss. When working with children or adolescents I believe in also working with the entire family. Parental involvement is crucial to the success of treatment. Active listening and psychoeducation are some of the tools I use to engage and empower my clients. I also use relaxation techniques to ease clients’ anxiety during treatment, especially when discussing traumatic events. I enjoy building therapeutic relationships by sharing stories or experiences, as well as creating goals with my clients by allowing them to determine the pace of their treatment. CBT, DBT, person-centered, trauma-focused CBT, solution-focused therapy, and strength-based therapy are some of the modalities I draw from in my clinical practice. I also have experience using play therapy with children, and art with victims of trauma and abuse. I will welcome you into a caring, nonjudgmental and safe space during our sessions. My warmth and empathy will help you feel at ease and comfortable when we’re working together. You’ll appreciate my down-to-earth spirit and feel I am someone who is easy to talk to. It would be an honor to go on this journey of healing and restoration in your life.
