It has been my pleasure to serve in the counseling profession for 20 years. I received my Master of Educational Psychology in Community Counseling from the University of Oklahoma in 2006. I began practicing under supervision in 2007, and became a Licensed Professional Counselor in Oklahoma in 2008 (#4068). Approved LPC Supervisor in Oklahoma. I am a National Board Certified Counselor and a Certified Clinical Mental Health Counselor. In 2016 I was trained in a specialized trauma treatment called Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) and completed my certification in EMDR in 2022. I provide part-time (Monday and Friday), virtual therapy for adults with a variety of concerns including but not limited to anxiety, depression, adjustment, anger, faith based, relationship issues, ADHD, grief, PTSD and other trauma related challenges. I believe successful treatment is rooted in a warm, supportive, and trusting relationship where I utilize an open-minded and non-judgmental attitude to gain a thorough understanding of your experience. The best counseling allows you to bear witness to your own story. From this foundation, we will unpack, explore, and work through the challenges and barriers preventing you from living a more fulfilling life. My theoretical orientation is Client Centered, also known as Person Centered. EMDR is considered a Person Centered Therapy. I also utilize aspects of Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy, based on client needs. I utilize many techniques to include mindfulness, cognitive restructuring, calm tapping, relaxation exercises, and square breathing.
