Introduction

COUPLES THERAPY Each of us deserves to have a healthy, fulfilling, and loving intimate relationship. Unfortunately, you may be struggling in your relationship and have doubts about its future. You may be experiencing constant arguments, periods of the silent treatment, ongoing tension because important topics are not being discussed, or fear that the other is having an affair. Couples therapy can be a healthy way to figure out what is really going on and learn ways to overcome these difficulties. NEXT STEPS: I will send you intake paperwork that takes about 15-20 minutes to complete. In the beginning of couples therapy I meet with you and your partner together for a first session. Then I meet with each of you individually. This helps me understand your needs so I can create a treatment plan that works the best for both of you. I find that in these initial meetings can be helpful because many couples really learn a lot about their relationship including things that they haven't thought about in a while. INDIVIDUAL THERAPY Individual therapy is important and often a good starting point for healing. You may be experiencing symptoms that are making it hard to cope from day-to-day. You may be in a stressful situation at home or work and can’t quite find your balance. We can work together to understand what is causing your pain and to develop coping strategies to move you towards a more fulfilling life. NEXT STEPS: I will send you intake paperwork that takes about 15-20 minutes to complete. The individual therapy begins when I meet with you to conduct a thorough evaluation of your current symptoms and struggles, past challenges or traumas, family history needs and strengths you have. I will create a treatment plan based on evidence-based practices that meets the your needs. ADULT ATTENTION DEFICIT HYPERACTIVITY DISORDER (ADHD) SCREENING/ASSESSMENT You may suspect you or a loved one has Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD). The symptoms you are observing may be causing difficulties in your relationships, at your work and with your family. You aren’t sure where to go for help but have reached out to your primary care provider (PCP). Often your PCP doesn’t have time or the training to make a formal DSM-V ADHD diagnosis. And sometimes, the symptoms may be causing depression or anxiety. An evidence-based Adult ADHD Assessment is one way to get a confirmed diagnosis of ADHD that can be used by your PCP or even psychiatrist for medication management. WHAT TO EXPECT: - Complete intake paperwork: mental health screenings, mental health & family history, Adult ADHD measures & other psychological measures as needed. - Meet for an in-person diagnostic interview for adult ADHD (2-2.5 hours) - Identify two people in your life to fill out an Adult ADHD measure: a person (e.g., family member) that knew you as a child and a current partner or friend - Attend an in-person or telehealth feedback session to review and discuss results & recommendations. Credentials: - Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology, The Pennsylvania State University, 2008 - M.A., Marriage and Family Therapy, Appalachian State University, 2003 Special populations: Military/Veteran, Lesbian/Gay
