Kayla is a Licensed Specialist Clinical Social Worker and a Registered Play Therapist Supervisor in the State of Kansas. After finding her passion through working with children and families in the community with mental health needs, she completed her master’s degree in Social Work through the University of Kansas. Kayla completed her practicum with early intervention work for children under the age of three with the local school district, followed by her clinical practicum in an inpatient psychiatric hospital setting. She has received a certificate in Autism Spectrum Disorder through Bowling Green State University after completing a certificate in Play Therapy through Mid-America Nazarene University in Olathe, KS. She has worked with children and families in multiple settings, including inpatient care, school-based, integrated health, and outpatient therapy settings. Kayla is well equipped to serve those who have experienced a variety of challenges including: trauma, grief and loss, parental separate or divorce, blended families. She is able to work with those who are unable to verbally process through their experiences or sensory disorders by helping them find their voice through play therapy techniques, including sand tray therapy. Her experience includes individual, family, and group therapies for children, adolescents, and families. Kayla sees children and adults ages three and up.
