My approach to therapy is holistic; prioritizing getting to know my clients through an open, non-judgmental lens. I utilize a person-centered approach in my work, taking time to understand the clients' goals, past and present experiences and their strengths and resources. I value collaboration with my clients by exploring goals and evaluating their needs as they work through the process of therapy. Consideration of evidence-based research and my own professional experience strengthen therapeutic relationships. I am passionate about working with professionals in safety sensitive occupations prioritize their own healthcare by removing internal and external barriers to achieve mental health and recovery. I have experience working with clients with addictive behaviors such as substance use disorders (alcohol, drugs, etc.) and process behaviors (eating disorders, difficult relationships with food and/or exercise, compulsive sexual behaviors, gaming, internet, or social media use, and unhealthy or codependent relationships). I also specialize in co-occurring disorders such as trauma, mood disorders, and anxiety. I integrate techniques from evidenced-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD, Dialectal Behavior Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Mindfulness Based Relapse Prevention, and Solution-Focused Brief Therapy.
