Hello! I’m Kathy Pettengill, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with over 10 years of experience in the mental health field. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of working across various agencies, and I am now fortunate to offer my services through my own private practice. My passion for helping individuals and families navigate life’s challenges and transitions led me to pursue this meaningful career. I’ve developed expertise in areas such as life transitions, grief and ambiguous grief (related to both death and other life losses), and family systems. I am also in the process of completing post-graduate work to become a Certified Sex Therapist and am gaining hours in Child-Centered Play Therapy, both of which are allowing me to deepen and expand my skills to better serve my clients. I specialize in working with youth and families, helping them process difficult emotions and improve communication. I am also experienced in supporting individuals through significant life changes, such as divorce, loss, or career transitions, offering tools and strategies to navigate these transitions with resilience and empowerment. As therapy is a collaborative process, I am committed to tailoring my approach to meet each client’s unique needs. My goal is to help you overcome obstacles, strengthen relationships, and find greater peace and fulfillment in your life. At my practice, I deeply respect and honor the diverse backgrounds, beliefs, and values of all individuals. I welcome clients from all faiths and spiritual traditions, and I believe that therapy should be a safe, open space where your beliefs are respected and incorporated into our work together, as needed. My goal is to create an environment where you feel understood, accepted, and empowered to achieve personal growth and healing. If you’re looking for a compassionate therapist to support you on your journey, I’d be honored to work with you. I currently have openings for new clients, and I invite you to reach out to schedule an appointment.
