Introduction

My name is Kathleen Grace Avila. I use an empathetic approach, meet you where you are and follow your lead so you feel empowered in this process. Together we will explore experiences from your past and present which provides an opportunity where you can get support, guidance, and learn new ways of coping by implementing solutions that can be used in your everyday life. As a daughter of immigrants, mental health is considered taboo and reaching out for help is often viewed as a sign of weakness. I understand on a fundamental level how the complexities of race, cultural identity, and systemic oppression can shape one’s experiences, relationships, and overall wellness.
