Hi, I'm Katheryn (Kate) Shelton. I strive to provide a welcoming, nonjudgmental, and relaxed environment. I am dedicated to providing an accepting environment for individuals to process, explore, heal, and grow. I am a Registered Art Therapist and Licensed Mental Health Counselor dedicated to assisting individuals experiencing issues with grief and loss, depression, low self-esteem, anxiety, and trauma. My approach encompasses a variety of modalities including Art Therapy, Brainspotting, and traditional talk therapy techniques. I utilize a person-centered approach in which clients begin to explore healthy coping skills to manage stressors and triggers effectively. In addition, I work to explore relationship development and self-care to help improve current functioning. As an Art Therapist, I can utilize a variety of art media to explore present and past issues and allow the creative process to initiate exploration and regulation of emotions and uncover underlying themes within the artwork. I integrate traditional talk therapy techniques through a person-centered framework and can use Brainspotting to address trauma or current issues.
