Everywhere we turn we can find suggestions, opinions, quick fixes, that somehow never really touch the underlying issue. In our striving to become better, we judge our progress harshly, or go from one extreme to the other- falling off the wagon and hoisting ourselves up over and over again. There is a way to address our emotional pain, learn new patterns, new skills, and truly work with ourselves instead of against. My work as a counselor is to provide a space for my clients slow down, to learn to listen, trust, and believe in themselves to create lasting, healthier change.
