Hi, I'm Kat! I am a Colombian-American therapist who is excited to work with you on your mental health journey. My work is heavily based on trauma-informed care, compassion, ethics, and strength-based practices. I am committed to providing culturally affirming and LGBTQ+-affirming therapy services. I am passionate about creating a safe and inclusive space where individuals of diverse backgrounds can explore their thoughts, emotions, and experiences. I received my MA from Drexel University in Art Therapy and Counseling and believe in the power of creativity and self-expression as catalysts for healing and growth. I have extensive experience working with a wide range of clients, including children, adolescents, parents, and families. I understand the unique challenges faced by young individuals and their families, and I am committed to helping them navigate through life's transitions, build healthy relationships, and cultivate resilience. Family sessions can be a bit scary but no worries, I prioritize working at a pace that is non-judgmental, comfortable, and safe for all. In addition, I have experience working with adults and older adults, addressing a variety of concerns such as anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and self-esteem. I believe in working collaboratively with clients and tailoring my therapeutic approach to meet their specific needs, integrating evidence-based practices with a person-centered, humanistic, and culturally affirming lens. My ultimate goal is to help clients develop a deeper understanding of themselves, explore and enhance their coping skills, promote self-kindness, and foster meaningful connections in their lives. Together, we will embark on a holistic therapeutic journey, utilizing a combination of talk therapy, art-based interventions, and other modalities tailored to your specific needs. Confidentiality, professionalism, and ethical practice are of utmost importance to me. I adhere to the highest standards to ensure your privacy and well-being throughout our therapeutic relationship is protected. I warmly invite you to reach out about how we may work together to create positive growth, practice self-compassion, and embrace your most authentic self.
